PM Surya Ghar · Vendor selection
Looking for the empanelled vendor list? The national portal lists hundreds of vendors. That list is a compliance gate for subsidy-linked jobs — not MNRE’s pick of the best installer. Verify on the portal for your DISCOM, compare three quotes, insist on ALMM, and keep OTP and bank control. Sealix advises; we do not install.

Fast triage: Open pmsuryaghar.gov.in → vendor / empanelled list → filter your state + DISCOM from the bill → match company name and registration ID → status must be Active → modules on the quote must be ALMM. No portal match for your DISCOM = do not pay an advance. Bill fit first: free home check.
Check my bill before I shortlist vendors
This guide is for homeowners ready to shortlist installers after deciding rooftop solar makes sense on the bill — not for vendor-portal logins (Vendor Mitra / DISCOM partner tools). You will select an empanelled vendor inside pmsuryaghar.gov.in for central CFA eligibility. Start earlier: PM Surya Ghar overview · how to apply · DISCOM guides such as JVVNL · Delhi DISCOMs · TANGEDCO · APCPDCL.
“We will apply under our partner’s name” is only safe if you can see that partner Active on the portal for your DISCOM and the application is actually filed under those credentials.
MNRE’s portal onboarding checks vendor registration, capacity declarations and documentary requirements so only listed entities can attach to consumer applications seeking central financial assistance. Empanelment is renewed and audited; names can appear or disappear as compliance changes.
It does not mean the government ranked installers by quality, price, or complaint history. A newly empanelled aggregator and a decade-old EPC both show the same list badge. Your job is diligence — not picking the first WhatsApp ad that says “government approved.”
When you register, you already selected state and distribution company. Shortlist vendors who actively commission in that utility: feasibility templates, inspection scheduling and net-meter paperwork differ between TANGEDCO, BSES, MSEDCL and JVVNL even within the same state.
Ask each bidder for three recent consumer references with the same DISCOM name on the bill, not “we work all over India.” Weak local DISCOM experience shows up as months of “file is pending with sir.”
Collect written proposals that specify:
Broader installer framework: how to choose a solar installer. Common portal errors before you sign: PM Surya Ghar application mistakes.
The empanelled vendor uploads a bill of materials that must match what is installed. ALMM modules are mandatory for central CFA on residential rooftop plants under current MNRE rules. If the quote silently substitutes a non-ALMM tier to win on price, you may lose subsidy at inspection while still owing the vendor balance.
Photograph module cartons and serial labels on delivery; compare to the portal BOM before structure work finishes. Document checklist: PM Surya Ghar documents required.
Your mobile number owns portal login and OTP approval steps. Central CFA credits the consumer’s Aadhaar-seeded bank account after DISCOM accepts commissioning — not the vendor’s company account. Any installer who requests standing access to your OTP, Aadhaar OTP, or net-banking credentials is creating risk you cannot unwind after a wrong capacity or wrong DISCOM entry is submitted.
You approve vendor linkage inside the portal yourself. Track status: application status map · subsidy status.
Sealix is an independent advisory — not MNRE, not a DISCOM, and not an empanelled installer. We do not sell modules, we do not appear on the vendor pick list for your subsidy file, and we do not take EPC margin. We help you interpret the bill and compare proposals so you enter vendor selection with eyes open.
Official empanelment status, CFA slabs and ALMM lists always come from pmsuryaghar.gov.in and MNRE notifications.
On pmsuryaghar.gov.in open the vendor list, select your state and DISCOM from the bill, search the company name or registration ID the installer gave you, and confirm status is Active. Then check that quoted modules are ALMM-listed. Do not rely on brochure claims or a partner name you cannot see on the portal for your DISCOM.
No. Empanelment means the vendor met registration thresholds — documentation, capacity bands and compliance checkpoints — to appear on the national portal for subsidy-linked projects. It is not a quality ranking, price cap, or guarantee of after-sales service. You still compare quotes, module brands, warranties and local DISCOM track record yourself.
Yes. The portal ties vendor activity to states and DISCOMs. A nationally empanelled name that rarely files in your utility circle may stumble on feasibility formats, inspection slots or net-meter paperwork. Shortlist vendors with recent commissioning references in your exact DISCOM — BRPL, JVVNL, TANGEDCO, etc. — not just in your state.
Compare at least three written quotes with the same kW scope, ALMM module make and model, inverter brand, structure specification, and milestone payment schedule. Line-item gaps — cheaper structure steel, non-ALMM modules, or missing net-meter fees — explain most price spreads. Use the same sanctioned load and CFA assumption in each proposal.
PM Surya Ghar central CFA is released by DBT to the consumer's Aadhaar-linked bank account after commissioning. Vendors who ask for your portal OTP, Aadhaar OTP or bank credentials to speed up the file remove your ability to see status changes or stop a wrong submission. You should log in yourself, approve vendor linkage, and never share OTPs over WhatsApp.
No. Sealix is an independent advisory — not MNRE, not your DISCOM, and not a rooftop installer. We help you read your bill, model payback and evaluate quotes before you sign with an empanelled vendor. We do not supply modules, pull permits, or collect installer margins.
