Searching “TNEB CFA status”? For a 3 kW home, central CFA is up to ₹78,000 plus Tamil Nadu ₹22,000 — about ₹1 lakh combined, paid by DBT after commissioning. File with TNPDCL on the national portal (bills may still say TNEB / TANGEDCO), then track on USRP. Sealix is not TNPDCL.

Fast triage: Already installed / waiting on money? Jump to CFA status — where to check. Amounts + USRP portal explainers: Tamil Nadu solar subsidy 2026. Not installed yet? Bill fit first: free bill check.
“CFA” is the central financial assistance paid under PM Surya Ghar. In September 2026 Tamil Nadu launched its own rooftop solar top-up in convergence with the central scheme, so TNEB / TANGEDCO domestic consumers can now stack two amounts:
What the state notices and press coverage (22 September 2026) describe: the top-up applies to domestic consumers who become eligible for central CFA from 5 August 2026; it is released automatically after the central subsidy, with no separate application; TNGECL is the nodal agency and TEDA handles programme management and DBT. The state allocation is fixed (reported at ₹50 crore, aiming at about one lakh homes by March 2027), so an early, clean file matters.
Where to confirm: the TNPDCL USRP portal at tnebltd.gov.in/usrp (it has an official subsidy calculator) and pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Full scheme explainer: Tamil Nadu solar subsidy 2026. Amounts above 3 kW do not rise further — see 3 kW vs 5 kW and subsidy amount by kW.
The two subsidies are paid in a fixed order, and each waits on the step before it. Use this to see which one you are actually waiting for:
| Stage | Where you see it | Who acts |
|---|---|---|
| National registration (NP-TN… reference) | pmsuryaghar.gov.in → Consumer Login → Track Details | You |
| TNPDCL reference number + “Solar application details updation – PMSGY” | USRP (tnebltd.gov.in/usrp) → Apply | You or your vendor |
| Plant photos, DCR and net-meter agreement upload → AE inspection → net meter | USRP → Application Status (no login; application or mobile number) | Vendor, then TNPDCL |
| Central CFA (up to ₹78,000) | National portal, after commissioning and your bank details / redemption request | You, then the scheme payment system |
| Tamil Nadu top-up (up to ₹22,000) | Same bank account, after the central credit | TEDA — automatic, no application |
Timing. MNRE told the Lok Sabha that central assistance is released in about 15 days on average after the redemption request when the details are correct. The state top-up only starts after that central credit, so if the central amount has not arrived, the top-up will not either — chase the central step first.

If all five are done and 30+ days have passed, send our copy-ready subsidy complaint letter to your TNPDCL section office and raise the same text as a portal grievance.
This guide is for domestic consumers whose electricity bill shows TANGEDCO / TNEB — the distribution arm serving the vast majority of Tamil Nadu households. City context: Tamil Nadu hub · Chennai · Coimbatore · Madurai.
If you are comparing DISCOM paths in other states, see BESCOM, MSEDCL, KSEB, TGSPDCL and APSPDCL.
Registration, vendor selection, document upload and CFA tracking start on the national portal — overview: PM Surya Ghar guide. TANGEDCO still owns feasibility, inspection, net metering and its own online application steps. Consumer-facing TNEB notices describe using the national registration number (often formatted like Reg-xxxxxxx) on TANGEDCO’s application page and paying published application charges through TANGEDCO’s payment portal.
Installers who only finish the national form and ignore the TANGEDCO charge step leave files half-complete. Confirm the live TNEB / TANGEDCO URLs when you apply — they are updated without notice.
Tamil Nadu bills print a service connection identity that is longer than a simple account number in some other states. Dropping the region / circle prefix, mixing old and new SC formats, or typing a neighbour’s SC from a society noticeboard are frequent failure modes. Use the latest bill photo, not memory.
Documents checklist (national): PM Surya Ghar documents required.
Tamil Nadu’s domestic tariff and free-unit benefits change the payback arithmetic versus a dry western state with the same roof. Run the bill first: free home check. Price bands: 3 kW · 5 kW · 3 kW vs 5 kW.
Apartment societies along OMR, Anna Nagar and Coimbatore high-rises often lose more weeks to society NOC than to TANGEDCO itself. Bungalows in older Madurai or Tirunelveli layouts move faster on roof rights but still need clean SC entry on the portal.
Coastal salt air (Chennai, Tuticorin) and monsoon soiling affect structure and cleaning routines; that adjusts yield expectations after bill maths, not instead of it. Net metering explainer: net metering in India.
We are an independent advisory. We do not represent TANGEDCO, we do not log into your portal account, and we do not install. Official CFA amounts, application charges and RTS circulars always come from pmsuryaghar.gov.in and TNEB / TANGEDCO published notices.
Select TNPDCL (Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited), the distribution company carved out of TANGEDCO, when the national portal asks for the electricity distribution company. TNPDCL's own PM Surya Ghar flowchart lists it that way, even though many bills and people still say TNEB or TANGEDCO. Enter the consumer number with region code exactly as printed on your latest bill — a wrong utility or truncated number stalls the file.
Check two places. On pmsuryaghar.gov.in, log in as consumer with your registered mobile and open Track Details to see the stage and any DISCOM remarks. On the TNPDCL USRP portal (tnebltd.gov.in/usrp), open Application Status and search by application number or mobile number — no login is needed, and the file appears there once it reaches TNPDCL. The central CFA is paid first, after commissioning and your redemption request; the Tamil Nadu top-up is released after the central credit, with no separate application. Full checklist: CFA status.
Tamil Nadu consumer accounts are identified by a service connection (SC) number that includes a region or circle code. Portal registration and OTP verification use that full SC string as printed on the bill. Truncating digits or omitting the region code is a common reason OTP or auto-fetch fails.
PM Surya Ghar registration and subsidy tracking start on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. TANGEDCO notices also describe a follow-on step that uses the national registration number (often shown as Reg-xxxxxxx) on TANGEDCO's own online application path, plus payment of published application charges. Confirm live URLs and charges on TNEB / TANGEDCO notices when you apply — they change.
Yes. Tamil Nadu launched a state top-up in September 2026 that sits on top of central PM Surya Ghar CFA: ₹5,000 for 1 kW, ₹10,000 for 2 kW and ₹22,000 for 3 kW and above, taking combined support to about ₹35,000, ₹70,000 and ₹1,00,000. It applies to domestic consumers eligible for central CFA from 5 August 2026, is released automatically after the central subsidy with no separate application, and runs from a fixed state allocation — confirm eligibility on the TNPDCL USRP portal (tnebltd.gov.in/usrp) before you sign. Sealix does not add a subsidy of its own.
No. Sealix is an independent advisory — not TANGEDCO, not MNRE, and not your installer. We help you read the bill and decide whether the economics justify a plant before you pay a vendor. Official feasibility, net metering and subsidy release sit with TANGEDCO and the schemes on pmsuryaghar.gov.in.
