Telangana · subsidy amounts 2026
If you searched “solar subsidy Telangana”, “solar subsidy in Telangana”, or “rooftop solar subsidy / solar energy subsidy in Telangana”, here is the honest number for a Hyderabad, Warangal or other city home: the same PM Surya Ghar CFA as the rest of India, paid after commissioning — not a second Telangana cheque on every application.

Fast triage: Eligible domestic homes get ₹30,000 / ₹60,000 / ₹78,000 for 1 / 2 / 3 kW+ from the Centre. There is no general state top-up for ordinary city applications. TGSPDCL is waiving application fees up to 10 kW for registrations 22 Jun 2026–31 Mar 2027 — process relief, not extra CFA. On Gruha Jyothi under 200 units? Solar usually saves nothing — read the fork. Paying ₹2,000+ a month? Check your bill before you size.

| Plant size | Central CFA (PM Surya Ghar) | Telangana state top-up (city homes) | What you typically fund first |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 kW | ₹30,000 | None | Gross quote ≈ ₹55k–80k → net after CFA roughly ₹25k–50k |
| 2 kW | ₹60,000 | None | Gross ≈ ₹1.1–1.6 lakh → net roughly ₹50k–1 lakh |
| 3 kW | ₹78,000 (₹30k/kW for first 2 kW + ₹18k for the next 1 kW) | None | Gross ≈ ₹1.6–2.4 lakh → net roughly ₹80k–1.6 lakh |
| Above 3 kW | Still capped at ₹78,000 | None | Extra capacity is self-funded; CFA does not rise |
TGSPDCL restated the same structure on 10 October 2026 when urging domestic consumers to install rooftop plants. Confirm live amounts on pmsuryaghar.gov.in and the TGREDCO CFA note before you sign. Price bands: 3 kW price · 5 kW price.
Unlike West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh or Rajasthan, Telangana does not publish a general rupee top-up that every Hyderabad applicant stacks on the central CFA. State support shows up in other programmes:

| Item | Indicative figure |
|---|---|
| Gross turnkey quote (on-grid) | ₹1,90,000 (example mid-band) |
| Central CFA after commissioning | − ₹78,000 |
| Indicative net outlay | ≈ ₹1,12,000 |
| Or finance with 10% margin at 5.75% | EMI ≈ ₹1,880 / month before CFA lands; ≈ ₹1,020 after (loan guide) |
Net cost only pays back if the plant displaces units you actually pay for. That is a bill question, not a brochure question — which is why Sealix asks for your bill before introducing a vendor.
Gruha Jyothi does not cancel PM Surya Ghar. It cancels the reason to buy when your monthly bill is already zero under 200 units. Crossing 200 units can flip the whole month onto normal tariff, so a small plant that keeps you under the cliff can still make sense — ask your section office how net-metered months are counted. TGSPDCL published these counts while promoting rooftop solar (The Hindu / Deccan Chronicle, 10 Oct 2026):
| Track | Registrations | Installed | Capacity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Net metering (all) | 30,259 | 29,777 | 640.85 MW |
| PM Surya Ghar | 44,662 | 29,816 | 125.61 MW |
| Model Solar Village | 4,335 | 3,190 | 6.41 MW |

Alongside CFA, TGSPDCL has simplified rooftop paperwork: technical feasibility often waived up to 10 kWp, load-enhancement charges can ride on later bills, and an application-fee exemption applies for systems up to 10 kWp registered between 22 June 2026 and 31 March 2027 (DISCOM conditions apply). That lowers friction and fees — it does not raise the ₹78,000 CFA ceiling. Installation still needs an empanelled vendor and net metering.

Ordinary city and town homes get the central PM Surya Ghar subsidy only: ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW, and up to ₹78,000 for 3 kW and above. There is no general Telangana state top-up stacked on top for individual Hyderabad or Warangal applications. State money goes into Model Solar Villages and a utility-led aggregation plan, not a second cheque on every portal file.
No. Central CFA is credited to your bank account by DBT after commissioning and verification. You fund the gross quote first (cash or a PM Surya Ghar bank loan). Treat any promise of instant subsidy adjustment in the invoice as a financing arrangement by the vendor, not as government policy.
It does not change the CFA amount, but it often kills the business case. If you stay under 200 units a month and your bill is already zero, a plant saves nothing. If you sometimes cross 200 units, Gruha Jyothi can bill the whole month at normal tariff, so a small plant may still help — confirm how net-metered months are counted with your section office before you size.
Register on pmsuryaghar.gov.in with TGSPDCL or TGNPDCL and your consumer number exactly as printed, complete feasibility and installation through an empanelled vendor, finish net metering and commissioning with the DISCOM, then submit bank details for DBT. TGSPDCL reported 44,662 PM Surya Ghar registrations and 29,816 systems installed as of 9 October 2026.
For ordinary city homes, no. “Solar energy subsidy in Telangana” and “rooftop solar installation in Telangana” still resolve to central CFA up to ₹78,000. Model Solar Villages and ULA select households; they are not an open second cheque. The TGSPDCL fee waiver to 31 March 2027 cuts process cost, not CFA — see fee waiver.
