DISCOM guide · Karnataka
If you searched “BESCOM solar subsidy” or “BESCOM net metering”, start here. Bengaluru homes claim central CFA on the national portal with BESCOM selected, then finish SRTPV feasibility and the bi-directional meter on utility time. Sealix is not BESCOM.

This is the sequence most domestic rooftop applicants experience. Exact online screens and fee names change — treat BESCOM’s published SRTPV process and pmsuryaghar.gov.in as authoritative.
India-wide metering economics (exported units are usually worth less than self-consumed): net metering in India. Apply detail: how to apply.
Most homes in Bengaluru and BESCOM licence areas (check your bill header). Other Karnataka ESCOMs (MESCOM, HESCOM, CESCOM/GESCOM) have parallel but separate paths — see Karnataka hub.

Almost every sizing mistake starts with a bill nobody read properly. Four fields decide whether rooftop solar is worth discussing at all:
If your twelve-month average sits below roughly 150–200 units a month, the honest answer is usually to wait rather than install. Bill-band walkthroughs: ₹1,500 · ₹3,000.
Karnataka runs rooftop connections under its Solar Rooftop Photovoltaic (SRTPV) framework, and the practical effect is that feasibility and metering approval sit with the DISCOM, not your installer. Two consequences worth planning around:
First, the transformer and feeder your home sits on can limit what is approved, regardless of how much roof you have. A vendor promising a fixed capacity before feasibility is guessing.
Second, the net meter is installed by the utility side, so commissioning date depends on their queue. Any generation your plant produces before the meter is set is not credited the way you expect, which is why paying the final instalment against "installation complete" rather than "commissioned" leaves you without leverage.
Collecting these before you sign shortens the gap between payment and commissioning, which is where most homeowner frustration actually lives.
We are an independent advisory. We do not represent BESCOM, we do not process your SRTPV application, and we do not install. What we do is read your bill with you and say plainly whether the numbers justify a rooftop plant — and if they do not, we say that too. Official scheme information and current CFA amounts always come from pmsuryaghar.gov.in and BESCOM's own published process, which can change without notice. More: about Sealix.

Four. The consumer or RR number, needed for portal registration. The tariff category, since domestic LT-2A behaves very differently from commercial and the subsidy path here is residential. The sanctioned load in kW, which caps what you can install without an enhancement request. And units consumed per month across twelve months rather than one, because summer and monsoon differ sharply in Bengaluru.
No. BESCOM covers Bengaluru and its licence areas, while other Karnataka utilities including MESCOM, HESCOM, CESCOM and GESCOM run parallel but separate paths. Check your bill header before registering, since selecting the wrong utility stalls the application.
At commissioning rather than at installation complete. Any generation your plant produces before the net meter is set is not credited the way you expect, and paying the final instalment against physical installation leaves you without leverage while you wait in the utility's queue. Structure the payment schedule so the last instalment falls due once the meter is in and commissioning is done.
Society approval is frequently slower than the DISCOM paperwork for homes on shared terraces. High-rise and tree shade from neighbouring structures also cuts afternoon yield in dense wards, which is a design problem rather than a delay. And the monsoon means you should size from annual units rather than a March peak-generation slide.
Your latest bill showing consumer number, tariff and sanctioned load; proof of ownership or roof rights, plus society approval for a shared terrace; identity and bank details for the subsidy credit; and the vendor's ALMM or DCR module declaration in writing. Collecting these before you sign shortens the gap between payment and commissioning, which is where most homeowner frustration actually lives.
Confirm a domestic BESCOM connection and roof rights; register on pmsuryaghar.gov.in with Karnataka and BESCOM; complete SRTPV feasibility; install via an empanelled vendor; wait for BESCOM to set the bi-directional net meter; then commission so credits and CFA can proceed. Sealix reads your bill first — we do not process SRTPV applications.
