Andhra Pradesh is divided between APSPDCL (Southern — Nellore, Tirupati, Chittoor, Kadapa, Annamayya, Ananthapur, Sri Sathya Sai, Kurnool and Nandyal), APEPDCL (Eastern, covering the Visakhapatnam belt) and APCPDCL (Central — Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam, including Vijayawada and Ongole, carved out of APSPDCL in 2019). The subsidy scheme is national, but feasibility, metering and correspondence run through whichever DISCOM appears on your bill. Selecting the wrong one at registration stalls the file, so read the header before you begin.

In the Vizag and coastal Nellore belt, salt-laden air attacks the parts nobody photographs: mounting structure, fasteners, earthing and enclosure seals. The module warranty is not what fails first. Ask specifically what grade of galvanisation the structure carries, whether fasteners are stainless, and what the enclosure IP rating is. A quote that is cheaper because it skipped this will cost more within a few monsoons.
Inland Rayalaseema has the opposite profile: strong irradiance, high summer heat, and dust. Heat reduces module efficiency against nameplate, and dust reduces output between cleanings, so annual estimates should not be built from a clear-day peak figure.
Central CFA commonly tops out around ₹78,000 for eligible 3 kW+ residential plants, and it does not grow when you install more. So the extra capacity in a 5 kW proposal is paid at full price and has to justify itself in units you genuinely consume — see 3 kW price, 5 kW price and net metering. The CFA itself reaches you by DBT after commissioning, so budget the gross amount up front or plan a loan.
