PM Surya Ghar solar subsidy for AP and Telangana homes

Central financial assistance for residential rooftop solar, with APSPDCL / TGSPDCL notes. For the all-India walkthrough see PM Surya Ghar. Sealix explains it; you apply on the official portal.

How much

Central subsidy amounts

Paid as Direct Benefit Transfer to your bank after the system is commissioned — not deducted as a shop “discount” you must take on trust.

System sizeCentral subsidyNotes
1 kW₹30,000₹30,000 per kW for first 2 kW
2 kW₹60,000Full amount for 2 kW
3 kW or more₹78,000 max₹60,000 for first 2 kW + ₹18,000 for 3rd kW; ceiling ₹78,000

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana currently rely on this central amount unless a state top-up is announced — rules can change. Verify on the national portal. DISCOM steps differ slightly between APSPDCL and TGSPDCL.

Who can apply?

Usually not eligible on this scheme: commercial or industrial meters, pure off-grid systems, and tenants without the owner’s involvement.

Typical documents

Sealix does not collect Aadhaar on our website. Your installer / portal filing handles KYC.

Steps (simplified)

  1. Register on pmsuryaghar.gov.in
  2. DISCOM (APSPDCL or TGSPDCL) feasibility
  3. Choose an empanelled vendor and install
  4. Inspection and net meter commissioning
  5. Subsidy credited to your bank after successful commissioning

Timelines vary. Feasibility and metering often take weeks, not days.

Myths

Clearing confusion

“Free solar panels for everyone”

The scheme subsidises cost; it does not mean zero-rupee panels for every household. SC/ST special packages in some districts are separate programmes — ask your DISCOM, do not assume.

“Any shop can claim subsidy for me in cash”

Subsidy is DBT to the consumer after portal rules are met. Prefer empanelled vendors and track status on the official site.

“Sealix is the government portal”

No. We only help you understand fit and money. Apply at pmsuryaghar.gov.in.
